Winter Cleaning
The no-snow on Tuesday last week gave way to dropped temperatures and blustery winds on Wednesday. I bundled up and took a brisk morning walk in Ipswich with my sister Marjorie.
Winds were at our backs and sunshine on our faces as we moved away from her home. The return trip, of course, had the sun at our backs and the wind blasting our fronts, but we were graced with our own self-generated body warmth by then.
And, no matter the direction, we were graced with the Ipswich River beside us with its salt marshes and tidal creeks, and above us a wide open sky, as well as the scouring of all cobwebs from our minds courtesy of the bracing winds.
Later in the day, I brought that refreshment of wind-scrubbed clarity and energy to my studio where the invigorating movement of creative wind gusted through the rivers, salt marshes, and tidal creeks of this CutUp.
