Straightforward

The following passage hit my funny bone:

While trekking to galleries,
I’d noticed that art devotees
spoke like they were trapped
in dictionaries and being forced
to chew their way out.
—Bianca Bosker, Get the Picture

Hoping to avoid such tortured artspeak, here’s what I have to say about the final artplay from my recent vacation.

In February I made a quick foray into my journal to lay some browns/neutrals on a page. To what purpose? Don’t remember.

Bumped into that page on vacation, added neurographic lines, a few paint marker scribbles, and hints of blue.

  3. Ha! What a great quote! I have a visual of people chomping on words in galleries…

This piece!!!! Those neutrals and the hard edge of lines are so satisfying and also make me want to launch a dictionary of juicy descriptive words for OH. It’s sooooooooooo goooooooood. Yum.

    1. Your art vocab is nonpareil, Lola! And I’m tickled by your feeling so satisfied by the neutrals and the hard edge of lines—I get very pulled to neutrals periodically, and neurographic drawing is VERY satisfying and soothing, I gotta say.
