Creation Stories

I find myself wondering what the leaf-creation process looked like for God.

For me it opens the door to harvesting scrumptiously luscious leaves from what I’d considered, until my current CutUps creative adventure began, a lackluster chaos-layer painted on a large sheet of paper that I shuffled from one spot to another in my studio without much interest for about six years.

I wonder how long God might have shuffled similar seemingly lackluster source material from one spot to another before seeing its potential.

More importantly, once started with the creation of leaves, how did God the Creator ever even think to stop?

  1. Maybe God hasn’t stopped. Maybe She’s got more scrumptious leaves that will rise up out our chaos layer. Or…maybe She will teach us to really appreciate and look at the ones we already have….or are able to create. Well done Dotty!

    1. Simone, thank you for taking in the tiny details, the splatters, the lines, the color nuances—your enumeration of those elements reads like poetry to me : )

  3. I love your thoughts, & this piece. ðŸ™‚ Aren’t we blessed, to know that there are so many (millions) leaves to be discovered?! I just read about new sea creatures that were discovered off the coast of Chile, I believe. So pretty, and interesting, and they have been here all along.
