Underdoing

I began taking Qigong classes in late December.

Qigong is an ancient Chinese healing practice that combines meditation, controlled breathing, and gentle movement.

Roughly translated as the master of one’s energy, Qigong combines two important concepts of traditional Chinese medicine. Qi refers to vital life force, while gong means mastery or cultivation.

The practice is meant to cultivate the energy and strength of nature into one’s body to promote mental, physical, and spiritual health.

At my first class, our instructor informed newcomers that Quigong is about underdoing.

Underdoing!

Big gift.

Huge.

  3. Qigong! I used to do that and loved it! “Underdoing” is hard for me (the queen over OVERDOING). And you did it perfectly here in this piece. I am agog. Brilliant.

    1. Underdoing is NOT my modus operandi, which is why Qigong is PERFECT for me!

Creating this piece embodied the aligned underdoing flow of Qigong. Om shanti shanti shanti.
