Play Date / May 8, 2024

Play Date

Back in April, art friend MaryAnn posted a photo related to “Color Week” from a course she’s taking, and I was very taken with the exercise, thinking instantly, Oh, I want to do that!

After having been away for much of last week, I discover that turning my focus today to poking through outdated magazines, old calendar pages, and other collections of harvested paper, and then playing with color by tearing and gluing bits of that paper into my journal is just the ticket.

  1. Oh my….this is fabulous in every way. To think that my little lineup of rainbow magazine strips inspired this art play tickles me down to my toes. Joyful puttering at its finest! I’m now inspired to keep playing with scraps!

    Well done Dotty!

    1. As my friend Pat used to say, “Who has more fun than we do? No one!”

I got totally immersed in making this piece, and I was so tickled when, pretty early on, I realized I wasn’t going to be able to get from red to violet in a straight run. I loved having to go wonky : )

Thanks for being my muse ❤️
