Triggers

• text messages that won't send
• stores that don't carry what I'm looking for
• stores that are listed online but which turn out to be permanently closed when I call
• insects landing in the paint I apply to the bulkhead doors which are decidedly awkward to paint
• bills from at&t that are confusing, difficult to decipher, and contain errors

Every Trigger Is a Healing Opportunity

Hi Dotty! I love these. Especially the sienna/black/white palette. And triggers!! I have a few, too. One BIG one is not being able to comment on people's blogs from my cell phone. I must be doing something wrong, but as it is now, I have to drag out this old computer to comment. I do see your blogs, though, and always love what you're coming up with. I hope all is well:))))))xo

Hi Laurie! Great to hear from you—thanks for your comments! It's been fun to play with this palette and its limits. Have to just shake my head in sympathy at the 'must-be-doing-something-wrong' struggle with technology—my day has been rife with such stuff, and I'm exhausted!

I have a trigger as well!
Trying to follow an online tutorial when my materials/colors don't match!
Love the pallete and the simplicity of the design! Curvatures in the paper add movement!

Triggers, all day every day. Opportunities for healing, all day every day.

As I said above to Laurie, I'm taking pleasure in the limits and the colors of the palette, and working with them piece after piece. Glad to hear you like the palette also, and I appreciate your comment re simplicity of design—I have to stay mindful to keep design simple. The curvatures come from (a) the interation of water with grain of the paper, and (b) my opting to photograph the paper rather than scan it b/c doing so would require fewer steps in order to blog!

TRIGGERS! Those stores that no longer exisit! ACK! Why don't they take down the website? Isn't that costing money? So frustrating. Triggers in general. Argh. Grrrrr. Waahhhh.

This painting - the STRONG verticals being thwarted by those STRONG horizontals. And that little, organic patch in the center that seems to me to be the place of healing; a rest from all those triggers. Brilliant.

My cultural illiteracy forces me to admit ignorance of 'those stores' you mention. Triggers in general? Of the argh-grrrrr-waahhh sort? Fully literate there.

Jen, thanks for the visual vocabulary about this piece—grateful. That little organic patch in the center, that place of healing, is part of what was once a make-a-bunch-of-lines exercise from an online class. It had a healing effect on me as I created it.

Love this Dotty. I really like the curled BTW. I see a high road and a low road through a stand of trees. Da da da da da...

Are we taking the high row or the low road, Sheila?!

LOL and delighted that you like the curled! Water media and paper have a life of their own together!
