On My Nightstand, On My Easel 8/4/22

On my nightstand:

Copy the masters not to copy their styles, but to read their minds. Let them teach you how to see in new ways, to see the beauty in real things, to explore new forms and open new vistas.

:) I had forgotten that book. I need to find my copy. Love all the textures here. :)

Thanks, Sheila. I'm having fun moving through this piece. I've been playing with visual textures and color mixing. And a tiny bit of sketching, which isn't my typical modus operandi.

My screen devided, half your post and the other your painting. Blown up, one can see the green coming through the dancing blooms.

Carol—fun, yes?, seeing the "green" come through—especially given that I painted no green there?!

I am having a grand time with making discoveries, meeting challenges, and trying my hand at new techniques with this painting.
