On My Nightstand, On My Easel 8/16/22

On my nightstand:

We sat at the table

in silence for awhile.

A beam of light from the window

fell across the table,

and I watched

little particles of dust

float around in it.

They looked so bright and detailed.

Like some kind of kinetic art.

Beyond that I saw the lemon halves

still lying on the counter.

Not yet squeezed.

What beautiful solution! Circling but not, and the purple accents!

Thx, Carol! I wanted movement, contrast, graphic feel, and a bit more depth, all while holding onto simplicity—had fun finding my way towards those goals.

What a vision, that short excerpt. I can see it clearly. And your soft jewels. shimmering, and vibrating gently. Somehow they seem alive... pretty little purple creatures. :)

Sheila, thanks for reflecting back to me the shimmering vibrating aliveness that evolved in this piece. Yesterday I wasn't sure how I might be able to get those gems to dance.
