Notes about poem and art:
• I highly recommend Rosemerry Wahtola Trommer’s All the Honey. RWT’s poetry and ways of being curious have inspired me to adventure back into writing poetry and to be more mindfully curious myself, for which I am tremendously grateful.
• I had to rekindle my curiosity more than once while creating this sweet bookmark, seeming to throw good money after bad for quite a stretch until—hooray!—I found my way again. Very satisfying. And off the bookmark has gone in the mail to Lola who’s ordered her very own copy of All the Honey.

  1. First congrats to Lola! Beautiful bookmark for your new book!

The poetry: my first impression, positivity, a new way of viewing, a little drop of honey, can even in grief sweeten.

Then I wonder, do I really have to interpret or just enjoy the word sequence?

  2. ooooooooh it arrived on the same day as the book!!! And it is SO beautiful! Dotty, I will email you a photo – to my delight, another bookmark I received from you matches the other book of her poetry that I purchased. It was meant to be!

Thank you so much for introducing me to this amazing poet, AND for gifting me the perfect art to mark my place with! Yay!!! Big hugs!!!

    1. So much joy and such a feeling of alignment for me to both introduce Rosemerry’s poetry and provide simpatico hand painted bookmarks! Great fun to have one book-to-bookmark match be accomplished with intention and the other with serendipity. I’m heading into my day with a big smile!!!

  3. It’s so wonderful when another artist/poet helps us find our way. I am so happy that you have found your way back into poetry. It benefits us all! And the bookmark is a perfect pairing to the book. Lola will love it.

    1. MaryAnn, I’m honking my horn in thanks/agreement (as is so welcome when I’m out standing up for democracy) to your assertion that it’s wonderful when another artist/poet helps us find our way, AND that you’re so happy I’ve found my way back into poetry! Woo hoo! Most grateful : )

  4. A mirror, a window, a portal perhaps? I’m so glad I shared RWT with you and that you love her as much as I do. She is a wonder.

I think I like your bookmark for the cover more than the actual cover itself. Yes, yes I do. I love the hints of rose-pink here and there and of course, the asemia. Up my alley.

And as my sweet mother likes to say, “and I’m not just blowing sunshine up your skirt. I mean it.”

    1. Roseanne, thank you!

You ask, a mirror, a window, a portal perhaps? It took me a fair amount of time of picking up the book and reading from it before I even noticed that mirror/window/portal in the cover art! What took me no time whatsoever was to recognize Rosemerry as a mirror, a window, and a portal : ) I am SO grateful you introduced her to me. I think—and am astonished that already—it’s been about a year since that introduction.

    1. I would love for you to have been observing this process from start to finish! It’d be interesting to get feedback on the hours and hours and repeated back and forth, the happy accidents, the pleasing steps forward, the steps that went awry, the challenges that presented themselves, and the long pauses—to name just a few elements—that went into this cherished little bit of real estate.
