Success! I've completed—at least for now—the self-inspired and -directed exploration of neutral thinking and painting with neutrals that I started two weeks ago, and I have a series of ten postcard starts at hand to bring to the point of being 'streetable,' i.e. ready to be seen in the light of day outside the studio. I plan to tidy, edit, or otherwise gussy up each postcard and select an accessory of prose poetry.

And fabric!
Big square wicker baskets
lined up on deep wall shelves
and full of solid or printed
cottons,
silks,
batiks,
woolens,
blends—
you name it,
I had some.

Amazing what a few outlines, added color and texture can do! BRAVO!
Thanks for your feedback, Carol. This next step is also an exploration, a learning excursion.
Wooohooo! those final touches make all the difference...maybe I'll put on make-up today?
LOL. Way more fun and satisfying for me to put make-up on a painting start than on myself. In my recent deep decluttering of a file cabinet I found a folder labeled 'style file' that had info and torn-out bits from magazines with tips and products for gussying-up basics. You'd have to have known me in person for a few decades to know how funny it is that I EVER created such a file (which I completely forgot I even had until last week); it represents a sweet reminder of a few years of interest in having some smidgen of a fashion sense in my 60's (late bloomer; short-lived blooms!).
Love the touch of beauty spots! Delightful. :) Congratulations!!
'Beauty spots'! Always love your observations, Sheila!
