Noticing #6

noticing:

• the way ferocious rain and fierce wind are having their way with Deer Isle
• the way Meadow Cove cottage hugs us with cozy protection
• the way Stu Kestenbaum knocked our socks off reading his poetry at the Opera House last night
• the way I fought with myself as I painted today
• the way Peter Beerits engages with found materials to make sculpture and malarkey at Nervous Nellie's Jams and Jellies

Thanks, Dotty, for your update! So good of you that you're painting on vacation: I never seem to manage that!

Thanks for your affirmation, Simone. I often feel ambivalence about painting on vacation, a topic we can explore upon my return, but I never regret having done so and I SO value the way a place becomes embodied in me when I paint there.

Noticing - how your inner wrestling match is producing beautiful art.

Thank you, Jen! I catch glimpses of beauty but mostly the wrestling match catches my attention in the foreground and blocks my view!

Blustery blowing, and rackety, rambling, rain. Ahhh, I feel the cool :)

The rain was awesome, I've gotta say! Glad you were feeling it, too, Sheila!
