I am trying to remember if that green in the sky was house paint. I love it whatever it is. That mellow 60's green next to that bubble gum hill. Divine madness!!! LOL :) A layer of barnacle dots to lead me to that glorious stand of trees.. LOVE it all Dotty :)

No house paint in this one, Sheila, although as we keep trying samples during some reno projects, I may just start painting with latex instead of acrylics! The green in the sky is layers of color mixing and accident—most of the layers accrued BECAUSE of 'accidents', and all to the good. I love where it ended up. The bubble gum hill! That took many layers also—inflate, pop, inflate, pop! Thanks for your comments and for your two-word capture: divine madness : )

Love the trees, Dotty. They look so real!

Thanks, Simone! I've been doing more painting over recently, for example letting go of what I'd originally set out to do with the pre-dawn sky WIP, seeing it instead as a fresh canvas ready for a new idea.

Thanks, Joje. I tried a bunch of different approaches to the trees and eventually they built up to a place where a few final tweaks, borrowed from the painting I did for Norway Center several years ago, did the trick.

So glad you were able to draw upon the Norway Center painting!

oooooooh lovely! The colors! The trifecta of sections with a huddled mass of pines...hiding from pink? Avoiding the limelight? These trees seem bashful! How did you DO that?

Jen, thank you for sharing your perception of the personality of the trees! Awesome! So much fun to look back to my painting and see that bashfulness. How did I do it? Not by design! Love this feedback!

Each section a world of its own! Layers of infinite surprises! Yes I also see a shyness in the trees!Oh that PINK!

Carol, the pink took me ages to get to where my inner eye said, yup, but I really wanted to give it a go. I also wanted to see if I could develop four distinct sections in this paint, with three of them green! I certainly experienced 'layers of infinite surprises' as I painted! Fun that you see shyness in the evergreens also. Thanks for your comments.
