Wow! Love the defining edges and negative spaces! Great strokes! They remind me of the snake plant or what is known as "mother-in-laws tongue. I have some in the garden. It's calling to be framed!
Wow, thanks for the feedback, Carol. Defining edges and negative space are exactly what I was playing with. Mother-in-law's tongue! I'd forgotten that plant name!
Janet, hello! Thanks for your comments—so helpful to have you bounce your response to this piece my way. Happy that you like the gray-purple, as do I! Funny that you and Carol are nudging me to put a frame on it. This piece is a paint-over on top of the art that was on it when I picked the panel up for free at a neighborhood yard sale/give-away, AND I've painted over the art that was on the OTHER side of the panel as well (will post soon)! I'll need a frame open on both sides : )
Jen, those scratchy bits of background so engaged me as I worked. So happy they especially caught your eye, AND that you noticed the varying lines and edges. Woo hoo! Thank you!
Just makes me smile. Soft summer day. Maybe a spring shower is moving in. I love the movement. Gentle breeze. There seems to be some hugging here. :) Dotty, they do make glass frames :) Double sided glass frame, or a floater frame. You can get them in a standard frame to hang, or on a stand for a shelf... You could flip it around depending on your mood, or the season or.... LOL :)
Sheila, what a gift that a painting I very much enjoyed creating is bringing such enjoyment to you and others—awesome! Love that you sense softness, warmth, a possible spring shower, movement, gentle breeze … and hugging!
LOL that you all are not gonna let me get away w/o framing this piece! Great idea to consider a double-sided glass frame!

A frame, eh?
I love your collection of whirling grasses!
Gorgeous! Love the colour - especially the touches of 'grey-purple'. All Carol's comments - put a frame on it!!
Thanks, Simone. Fun to paint because the process felt mostly organic and intuitive throughout : )
Your choice of colors...the varying lines and edges...this is really beautiful. I especially love those scratchy bits of background...YUM!
