Thanks, Sheila. Choppy wasn't my 'intent' but choppy is what expressed itself! Glad you like the sky and find that it pulls you in to keep looking and looking—I had to push myself to cover the black gesso, and then wasn't at all sure how to use the black, but I ended up loving what emerged, even if I had no 'control' over it.
It DOES give a new angle to paint from, and it's interesting to play with. It is definitely impacting the way the paint appears in the 'sky.' The 'rock outcroppings' in the 'water' are actually mixed from burnt sienna and various blues. I'll never run out of things to learn, that's for sure!

A beautiful symphony of blues and greens! And those dots and textures!
Love it already! That choppy, exciting water. And that Dotty sky that make me want to look forever :)
Carol, fun to have you reflecting back your notice of everything I had fun playing with here. Thank you!

I love the black background! Gives a whole new 'angle' to paint from, I imagine!

Jen, yes! Thank you! What you feel and see is what I, too, feel and see : )
Love this one, Dotty. It’s a choppier version of the water I’m creating in my current cross stitch.
Thanks, Joje—fun to know you like this one, and I like the connection between it and your cross stitch : )
