In discussing her coming to understand that God loves her
no matter what, no matter what, no matter what, Shauna Niequist, author of
Present Over Perfect, writes these words that jump off the page at me, feeling up close and personal:
I can't imagine anything more life-changing for an earner like me.

Beautiful Dotty! It's good to see you back on your blog!
Enjoying! Looks like a great bookmark but don't cut up the canvas!
Thanks, and thanks, Simone!
Glad you're enjoying, Carol.
Won't be cutting up my canvas (though I wish I could!), but will probably start getting reckless with my paints soon.
earner....ouch. That resonates. Every day that you post these things, I feel like you are speaking directly to me! I am dazzled by the art.
Jen, you should have seen me when I read "earner" in Niequist's book—busted! It SO resonated, and her use of the word earner was enough different from the vocab usually used that it had double impact. I'm glad that in talking to myself at my blog, so to speak (and actually through Niequist's speaking to HERself in this case!), I also speak to others.
Also glad to know the art is dazzling you! Thanks!
What a blessing these sharings are :)
oh, Sheila, thank you : )
I don’t know if i’m a worthy “earner”..... I hope and try and pray...
I need to wrap my head around it!
Beautiful colors in this!
Laurie, what I hear in Niequist's writing is this: THERE IS NOTHING TO EARN. Take a look at the three posts that precede this one and read them chronologically one right after the other as the connected train of thought that they were before I broke the thought into smaller bits. See if it says to you what it says to me: nothing to earn, nothing to try for, you are worthy.
Glad you like the colors here. Thanks!
