Experiment.
My eyes land on a sheet of sandwich paper onto which I've recently blotted some diluted white paint from another piece. The sandwich paper has dried to a somewhat lacy effect. I affix it to my current what-if exploration.

LOVE... :)
ooo, thank you, Sheila—fun to get speedy feedback! I'm liking the experimentation. At first I had no clue where I might go from here, if anywhere but now, just a short while later, my creative mojo is in gear.
Carol, appreciating this little walk into the world of oils through you. Thanks!
What a beautiful softly textured piece! My imagination sees a misty autumn wood.
Smiling at your comment—that's what I see also. Interestingly, in its first iteration, this piece reminded me, though artistically unsatisfyingly, of a hike in West Virginia several years ago. Now it is very evocative of the feeling of a place Dave and I vacationed two years ago. I hope to 'chase' that feeling further now that I've changed direction a bit with this piece.
