Fun! I thought of little creature growing in a petri dish. Always held a strange fascination. Haha. :) Love that grid mark :)
I think you did what the postcard title encouraged you to do: i.e. notice what is uppermost in your mind — clearly, the fact that the world is one big petri dish these days did not escape your notice, Sheila!
