Ahead of the Curve

Today, as I post this work in progress as it looked five weeks ago, I have started to listen to a Brené Brown podcast, Dr. Marc Brackett and Brené on "Permission to Feel."

Back on March 7 when I was adding color and building layers on this piece, the podcast probably hadn't even been recorded yet. Happily, I was ahead of the curve—already giving myself permission to feel, using paint as my medium.

LOVE this size, for starters! LOVE these serious colors romping with the more playful ones. LOVE the looseness. Love the artist!!!

This is NOT my usual size, as you know! But it was JUST the right size when I returned from VA. Liking your serious/playful descriptors—contrast, ya know?! Thanks for lovin' on my work and lovin' on me, Jen : )

Seems that Jen has said it all! Something very interesting happening in the bottom right! A figure holding the world and one that looks like he is making a sacrifice! Sort of back to back! Thanks for the link on Brene!

Well, you certainly caught my attention with mention of figures holding up the world (glad SOMEone is!) and making sacrifices, Carol. Not only do I not see them, but you remind me that I almost never even think to look for hidden figures or objects in my abstracts. !!!

I think I'm supposed to be flattening the curve, but I'm grateful to be feeling my feelings and sharing joy even if I can't leave my house!
