Unthinking

Placed a pear under a light.

Found a painting of something else that used only two predominant colors.

Saw on my color wheel that they were two legs of a triad.

Chose two legs of a different triad.

Gave a passing thought to darks and lights.

Then set an intention to move from thinking to whatever part of me is enlivened by holding a brush loaded with paint.

And painted.

Reminds me of an old color film negative and/or blueberries. Very appealing choice of "off" colors!

Scott, thanks for your comment. I enjoyed your mention of an old color film negative. I have plans for more "off-color jokes" to come. Using colors other than what I see in front of me shifts my attention in ways that are fun and instructive.
