Across the Silence

To pray is to enter

into a humble receptivity.

It’s to realize the familiar self’s

inability to deeply know.

Most fundamentally,

to pray is to open to wisdom

that’s available

to come to the heart

in a time of readiness.

This is not

the emotion-saturated heart

cramped by desire or need,

but the open one

that’s receptive to truth,

painful or otherwise.

Silence of under the sea!
"but the open one
that’s receptive to truth,
painful or otherwise." Sometimes we have to except pain!

The same phrase that resonated with Carol touched me. And this piece - it invites me in to walk and be receptive.

Pain is part of the deal, yes? Carol, love that you discover silence of UNDER the sea here.

Jen: yes! Thank you for connecting the visual language with the verbal –– seeing that path of invitation to receptivity.

Under the sea... rain covered window... Dreamy thoughts and views. Again you have captured my attention, and I want to stay in this piece, just a few minutes more. I clipped the passage, so I can revisit it. :)

Sheila, I'm pleased that this passage of words touched you, and this passage of paint caught your imagination's attention and found receptivity : )
