Objets Trouvés, IV

His entire lecture
could be boiled down
to two distinctions.
The first was a phrase
(a series of related words
with no specific
grammatical function,
such as
the red hat,
last night,
or
forever and a day)

versus

a clause
(a group of words
that included
a noun and a related verb).

Ok, I am having a glorious time looking through this series of art and prose....the COLORS! The LINE WORK! The COMPOSITION! And then these random words that draw me in wondering....you are on fire, Dotty! Love this series.

Jen, thank you for your feedback!! You can actually see these cards in person if you wish: I made them for Martha's birthday : )

What I totally love about the composition is that it's largely volunteer. I took my original 8x8" painting to my trusty paper trimmer and cut it into nine equal pieces with no regard for what might result. Then I turned the smaller pieces to whatever direction pleased me. Voilà!

I'm SO tickled that the random words are hitting your fancy also. The words in the series will all tie together and the nine greeting cards will all tie together, but the only things tying the two together are (a) I like them all and (b) they are all objets trouvés of a sort.

You are a cheerleader par excellence for which I am tremendously grateful.

Agree with Jen! Whatever way they fall! What treasures there are in "objets trouvés "! Description says 4 x 5 but they look square to me?

Thanks for your enthusiasm and encouragement, Carol.

Your question is apt re size: greeting cards are 4 x 5"; paintings are ~2.67" square. I often feel torn about such labeling. Similarly, the original painting was created in 2016, the found-composition-made-into-greeting-card took place in 2019; how to label???
