Jumble

Jumble bells, jumble bells, jumble all the way.

Or something like that.

So much calling out for my attention, daylight hours diminishing by the day, tasks started but not completed, plans leapfrogging other plans, studio time disjointed—jumble all the way, I tell ya!

Apropos of nothing, and with unfinished paintings to the left of me, unfinished paintings to the right of me, here's what I started painting today, letting my inner jumble out onto a large sheet of paper.

marks, scribbles
leftover paint from previous projects
work in progress

I think it's a good thing this JUMBLE! Much better not doing anything because of lack of inspiration... a block/ wall. Actually saw on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/p/BrXE0iWjr3n/?utm_source=ig_web_button_share_sheet When you hit a wall,
Just paint a door and walk through it!
Joan Princing.. Grateful for lots of doors to walk through! Love your sense of freedom.

Carol, thanks for your warm affirmation of my 'painting a door and walking through it.' Love that take on things.

The jumble continues. Doing my best to roll with it.

... Stuck in the middle with you....
what a lovely sight(s) to see :)
I can't believe how short the days are. I lose light so early!! This gives me a calm feeling. A sunny visual meadow :) Hang in there Dotty, longer days soon, I hope :) LOL

Thanks, Sheila. Longer days ARE just around the corner, for which I am most grateful! Love hearing that this piece (stuck in the middle though it may be) gives you a calm feeling : )

Re-looking I just saw some animals snoozing away!

Totally love that your eye discovered surprise visitors snoozing away in this painting, Carol!

Dear Dotty, it's so dark here too! We all are longing for the light. It's beautiful that you jumble on (whatever it means, it sounds like juggling, stumbling, or a combination of both ;-) and not let the short days and the darkness get in the way of painting!

Simone, I've felt a few very palpable moments of inner light in the past few days—so welcome!

A jumble is an untidy collection or pile of things, so your interpretation of juggling/stumbling fits well! And I'm glad to counterbalance the short days and darkness and jumble with PAINTING!
