Salle de Bain Gallery

Many moons ago I enjoyed an active correspondence with my friend Anne—lots of postal art flying between our homes. I set a clear acrylic easel on the marble top of the master bathroom vanity and rotated Anne's art through my Salle de Bain Gallery frequently.

Bathrooms and art! Great combo!

Ever since my hubby and I completed (well, almost) our recent bathroom reno, I've had the idea to create a painting as a final decorating touch.

The bathroom grays inspired the background color for this now-completed-but-in-process-almost-as-long-as-the-bathroom-took-to-renovate abstract floral.

Two days ago, I did some acrylic color-mixing to match our pop-of-color hand towels.

Yesterday, the wrought-iron hardware on the vanity suddenly sparked a solution to my bedeviled conundrum of how to anchor the busy pink-and-red flowers.

Today, white porcelain offered up an idea.

Sing it Barbara! LOL :) Love the texture, the colors, the messy joyful blooms. The here, there and everywhere marks. An all time favorite, just happy looking at it :)

Listened yesterday to a 1999 NPR interview held with Aretha Franklin in which an audio clip of her singing at age 14 in church was played. HOLY MOLY—she gave FULL VOICE and FULL HEART to her singing! Though my singing was internal, it was fullness of voice and heart I felt when I finally pulled this painting out of its inceptional mayhem.

I'm happy knowing that you're happy looking at it. Yay!

Yes a wonderful conclusion! The lines and green abstract foliage bring it all together. Beautiful piece!

Thanks, Carol. This piece REALLY put me through paces; in the end, I am grateful for all the intense learning and experimenting, grateful for a happy outcome.

OMG!!!!!! This turned out beautifully!!!! And, of course, the title is the bomb diggity. You stuck with this one and thank goodness you did! Truly a gem.

We have a "loo gallery" in our house. Always one bathroom with a dozen small paintings wallpapering a wall. It makes me smile, and visitors raise an eyebrow...

'Bomb diggity'—love that, Jen! Thanks for your cheering en route and your cheering now. I'm quite taken with this piece which, of course, holds its whole process as part of my viewing it.

Love that you have a loo gallery! A local friend of mine has a beautiful loo gallery of mama/baby nursing art.
