Love the layering - the push and pull with the shapes. That black makes everything pop as well as giving the eye a place to rest. Maybe we are drawn to art because we can get lost in the act of creating and forget the ticking of the clock?!
Thanks, Janet. The layering was fun, intuitive, and relaxing as I put it into place. I love working with the black for precisely the reasons you articulate. For sure, art offers me entrée to presence and flow, leaving clock time behind, to my great gratitude.

And in your art-making what? LOve those pinks The diagonal really sets it off. And Voila, not a wip but a finished painting!
Love how the thin lines set of the larger, bold shapes :)
HA! In my art-making, the art-making decides how much time it will take no matter what intentions I go in with : )
I agree, fun pinks. Thanks for your feedback re the diagonal.
And, yes, a finished painting!
Sheila, thanks for pointing out the skinny/fat contrast; always helpful to have some verbal feedback on my visual language.
You make me curious ;-)
I love the pink colours and spring-like atmosphere of this painting!
Yes, spring-like atmosphere! I think that's what speaks to me in this piece, too : )
