A SNeries; #4 Writes Itself Out of the Park

Years and years ago I pick up a copy of Julia Cameron's The Artist's Way at a yard sale and am introduced to her practice of Morning Pages, a practice that I make my own so few times I can count them on one hand.

One of those times is this morning! I don't know where to head with the last piece in my so-called SNeries so I pick up a pencil and just spill "anything and everything that crosses my mind" onto my started canvas until the page is full.

That is enough to launch me. I brighten up some of the painted primary acrylic bits, veil various areas with white, go back to the colors with wax pastels, use the wax pastels to make black and white circles, and play with tissue paper collage.

The dabbed blue pattern I made back when I first worked on this piece reminds me of the stitching on a baseball, and that leads me to some final composition decisions, my title, and the scribbling in of a few lines from Take Me Out to the Ball Game.

I love this series, Dotty! I can imagine "Curve Ball" on a marquee outside of the Tiger Stadium! And the conversations of your grand daughters......nothing short of precious.
