17-Minute Painting Hat

I wear many hats. Today, it seems as though I wore each one more than once, often for only a few minutes before I had to switch to the next.

I did put on my painting hat just long enough to take bookmark #3 from my current series and develop it a bit, focusing mostly on color-mixing and seeing how close I could get to where I want to go.

Got closer.

Went from here to here:

A 17 minute painting hat....love that. But I would love to see a photo of you in the hat itself, which I imagine is colorful and wonky and asymmetrical and fun?????

I love those bookmarks! They are actually a bit taller/slimmer than mine, which gives different 'composition-problems'. I'm going to try out such taller/slimmer ones soon!

uh oh … busted! Any hat I wear is merely imagined, so let's go with the one YOU imagined, Jen!

These particular ones are taller/slimmer rectangles than some others I've painted. You're right: they do pose certain composition challenges. Thanks for following along as I find my way, Simone.

I sort of like the more open one where I can read the words! Yes would really love to see your different hats!

The thing about layers: you just can't get them without obscuring something! But more words may appear.

I wrote/presented a little riff a number of years ago about different hats I wore at the time. May have to see if I have a copy to share!

Thanks for sharing the next stips and in betweens. 17 minutes in Dotty's shoes. LOL :) I better get to my desk and pull out some paper ;)

Sheila, thanks for your appreciation of the next-steps and in-betweens; I do laugh at myself sometimes for the documentation of such small bits of process, but that is my art life right now!
