I like your use of diagonals to move the viewer eye. Certainly not an ugly painting/patch.love the gradient in the greens, crayons? I think scribbling is great to get the juices moving!

LOVE the image of happy little aliens running around in (tired, dirty, gritty, early spring) snow! Thank you!

Helpful welcome feedback, Carol, re the diagonals, the gradient, the scribbling. I'd made several messes, was neutralizing by painting over, got to scribbling through to earlier green layers with a tooling device.

Tiny lichens dancing under a microscope—Dancing with the Stars at its best! I do like the movement and signs of life here. Thanks for your seeing beyond my pain : )

Love those neutrals! Such a great push and pull between those 'dancing lichens'. I think you have a created a great 3-D feel with this.

Janet, as always I value your feedback on the visual language of what I've posted. Thank you! I got into such a grouchy mood painting this patch but, in the end, I am doing exactly what I set out to do, i.e. to experiment and make discoveries … which is exactly what I've done here!

Even a painful, stuck and heavy painting day is a painting day ;-)
Cheers for you!

Indeed! My scribbles look like pieces of barbed wire that have broken away—now I'm free to move along!
