Thanks for your feedback, Carol. At this point I am still playing with my loose painted canvas tiles, arranging them variously on backgrounds, seeing what I discover.
Never have I ever wanted to understand football more than now. I don't, but I DO understand how delightful, transformative and satisfying this process must be! Wait until I tell my husband there is football in art. He will never believe it. :)
Well, I know next to nothing about football myself, and may get called out on my metaphor by someone in the know, but the word gridiron popped into mind so I ran with it (down the field, hoping for a touchdown—and after googling the word to be sure it actually WAS a football word). I laughed out loud about the disbelief that may greet your telling your hubby that there is football in art!
Awkward place full of awkward questions. I love that! And they say sat drinking hot cider, and on and on. Not only do I love what you create, but I learn something every time I read your blog, Dotty. You have inspired me hugely today, in so many ways. Thank you.
I love your football metaphore. I have to think at other things too. Not so easy to explain. Always when I drink coffee somewhere in a restaurant or so, and I have one of those small sugarbags, I can't help myself tearing them apart, and making similar grids as you are doing right now. It is a kind of very basic art ;-)
Laurie, thanks so much for dropping by, reading a few 'catch-up' posts, and weighing in with such uplifting thoughts. Grateful to have become friends through our art. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.
Glad you're enjoying the football metaphor, Simone, and I LOVE the idea of your making grids with sugar! Send me a photo next time you indulge in that 'kind of very basic art'—all art is art : )
Well, with my limited football knowledge, I am sure I understand what it is you think you are saying. LOL Hahahaha. Love your posts always Dotty, your words and art always inspire me! Love that happy green, and the fun little family Circus visual paths. I imagine them to be bunny paths. Hippity-Hoppity. I know, I know. wrong month. LOL. LOVE the WONKY! Happy day to you Maestra!
Sheila, thanks for the gift of your cheerleading and interpretations, for your appreciation of wonky, and for the fun of my now seeing bunny paths where previously I did not!

Your optical illusions are fabulous. Great play of color that create depth and movemet!
