Different Twist

Took the other postcard onto which I'd spattered drops of black paint and gave it a different twist.

A total doodle—but I hold it at a distance and see a frigatebird blown far from his ocean home in the tropics by the winds of a storm. Now navigating dazedly through a stand of birches, it seeks fish for a midafternoon snack and finds only bright red winterberries.

Love, love, love this one, Dotty! And the story. I can relate to the little bird. I am "navigating dazedly" through a lot of this life! But it seems to work out so tell the little guy he will prevail!

Thanks, Simone! The red bird was a happy happenstance after I'd already painted the card : )

Thanks for your appreciation of my painting and the story.

Yeah, I hear ya about being one with the frigatebird navigating dazedly! It does seem to offer up riches, doesn't it?

I see it! As they'd say on Downton... "it's the berries!"

Laughing at your it's-the-berries quip—touché! Thanks for stopping by : )

Those red berries really pop! To me, it almost looks like a curtain of cool looking vines, with a string of berries reaching across it. Fun and playful!

Thanks, Corinna. Enjoying your cool-looking curtain of vines image.
