she stopped in her tracks—"I have to break my rule and use my iPhone to take a picture!" Given her enthusiasm, I set out today to clear some leftover paint from my palette by creating a bookmark for her. The process included the ugly-duckling distraction of the tape that held the watercolor paper in place followed by pulling off the tape for a magical transformation. Can't wait to see what book this swan pairs up with.

I love this! It must be very satisfying to pull off the tape at the end :)
Pulling the tape off at the end is way fun. It reminds me of polishing up a chrome toaster we used to have; the littlest action could make a whole room light up!
I love the evolution of Ugly Duckling into Jane's Swan. What a great bookmark!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed the bookmark and its metamorphosis. I have sent "Jane's Swan" off to Jane but have the two books I'm currently reading myself satisfyingly paired with handpainted bookmarks from my growing collection.
