Thursday, Watoga

a dry-leaf shower
weaves whispers of color to
blanket the earth's spine

Wish I'd taken some process shots so I had a record of how abortively ugly this was, until suddenly it wasn't!

This brings me to pumpkins! Just love the purple and orange combination!Everything about it is positive! I planted some seeds, late, my grandson wants a real pumpkin, and they are flowering. Seems there are male and female flowers, and I haven't seen a bee in site. May have to pollinate by hand. Can't find any female flowers! This should be my biggest problem!

Thanks for sending this little snippet of Virginia all the way overseas!

love this rounded field with a fence line (?) And that bright glow in the sky! I want to run through the meadow...

Eager to hear how your pollination project progresses! We grew pumpkins in our flower garden this summer—had a huge one that ended up suspended in a holly bush!

Happy to do so! It was fun to have these hills emerge from a mess of high flow acrylic paints—much to learn in using them.

Thanks, Jen! Have fun romping : )

The fence line (?) is strips of acrylic skin that wanted to run through the meadow!

No way could this have been, really? Gorgeous all around. I want to run up that hill, and see what is on the other side. And maybe on the way back, I will roll down. LOL. You're just amazing Dotty!

Thanks, Sheila. I had limited supplies with me and got into some ugly messes en route but had fun exploring my way to this happy outcome. It'll serve as a teaching touchstone as I move forward and as a memento of my Watoga week : )
