What an exquisite setting for your mobiles! שלום شالوم Peace
Love this Dotty :) How awesome your mobile's look in the windows (and on the floor)! Happy exhibit to you all :)
Isn't it cool? I haven't visited, so was grateful to have my friend Stu send photos.
Thanks, Sheila—really, how often does one's art look good on the floor?! I made these pieces at the request of my friend Stu, with no idea of the exhibit space nor how the pieces might be displayed. Couldn't have turned out better.
wish I could see this live!!!
Me, too! But getting to VT is not in the cards.
What a thrill for you, Dotty!
Thanks, Joje. Stu is a long-time friend from camp who asked me this summer if I'd help out with this exhibit by contributing, specifically asking for this particular mobile format, a format I'd used when sending mail art to him one time. I'm glad my newly created mobiles found such a gorgeous display space!
Wow...you are KICKIN it, Dotty. First off I love how "Simplicity" looks mounted like that. And congrats on all of your goings on! The poems/prayers, the exhibit, the mobiles. I am so happy for you that you are enjoying this journey so much. I wish we could all get together and bring the joy of art to people who don't have this blessing/feeling of joy. And I love your new banner. Dare I say you employed a little negative space painting there?
Ahhhhhhhh... another great visit to the DS Hall of Art and Blogging! My Paypal hasn't been charged yet for
admission (?!)
Laurie, thanks so much for all your feedback. Glad you love how "Simplicity" looks mounted on black-painted wood; I've mounted another to great effect as well, and I'm working on a third (for which I'll write a haiku today). My painting time every day is definitely a happy place, I have to say.
The new banner is an old painting, one of my early ventures into negative space DIRECTLY as a result of my seeing dazzling use of negative space time and again in your painting. We had a discussion way back when that was so helpful.
Could be that PayPal just zeroes us out as we visit each other's Art & Blogging : )
Congratulations, Dotty!! What a lovely place to hang your art!
Thanks, Katie. Isn't it a sweet space?
