Heavy prolonged showers in the night gave way to a misty sunrise that I took in from the porch of Mem Lodge. From there I walked up the hill to the dining hall.
En route: an eastern red-spotted newt.

I am not sure what a 'newt' is but the pastel is beautiful!
Simone, thanks for commenting! Fun for me to hear that you found my pastel exploration to be beautiful. To be painting away from home, with several supplies that are new to me, and most of my familiar materials at home, is shaking me out of what little I might have in the way of a comfort zone!
A newt is a kind of salamander
Ooouuu! I like this!!!
Thanks, Sheila!
