12/24", Day 6

I'm off to new turf tomorrow, vacationing in a little unincorporated Canadian village on a harbor off the Bay of Fundy.

12/24" #1 and #2 will be staying behind, getting a vacation from me! They are quite pleased to know they are old enough to take care of themselves, no babysitter needed.

I'll be bringing a limited collection of art supplies with me but, as with my painting life in general, I have little to no idea what will unfold in any given moment. I may paint, I may not. I may post, I may not.

Here are the adolescents, with all their current swagger and wild sense of immortality:

12/24" #2 and #1, work in progress
12/24", #2 and #1, work in progress

Dotty, I hope you have a lovely small vacation! (Is it so small?) And it might be good to leave the two paintings to themselves for a while ;-)

Simone, eight days in Canada in the middle of nowhere : ) Thanks for your good wishes.

The paintings are kicking up their heels to be on their own this week, but they'll be happy to see me when I return even if they don't think so!

Teenagers have more to offer than meets the eye, don'tcha think? I'm snuggled into a Canadian cottage on a wonderfully rainy thunder-and-lightningy afternoon with nothing to do but follow my nose. Love unpacking and playing house somewhere new : )

Thanks, Carol. We are out in the boonies, but we met a few people en route today in a little village near our cottage—could not have been friendlier nor more outgoing in a delightfully genuine and warm way. We are tucked into our new little space, loving the chance to stake a claim in a corner of the world that's new to us.

I hope you're having a great vacation, Dotty!! I'll be catching up on your blog in the meantime. :) Love seeing all these new pieces you've been working on. These two remind me of what it's like to lie in the grass, and look up into the trees.

Thanks, Katie. I'm basking in relaxation, overlooking the Bay of Fundy at the moment. Love your lying-in-the-grass-looking-up-into-the-trees perspective here : )
