Wide-Eyed in Wonder Yet Again

I stand in humble wide-eyed wonder yet again, wonder that passes understanding.

How does this …

painting start from summer solstice with friend Joan:
building layers with acrylic, watercolors, and stamped ink

become this … ?

work in progress

Big Magic, I'm tellin' ya. Big Magic.

Dotty's magical paints and brushes and imagination!

Thanks, Carol. the experience of painting, for me, goes largely beyond words, which is a big piece of what draws me in, but with a few inadequate words I have to say that I actively take pleasure in retrospective awareness of the difference in my current painting relative to where I started four years ago, and I pause in wonder to consider what might be yet to come. What an adventure!

Thanks, Jen. Love how you frame my approach, and pleased that I delight you (and myself!).

Totally FUN!

Gosh, my week has been exceedingly busy and 'choppy,' moving from one thing to the next at a nonstop pace and, already, this painting feels like something from weeks ago. I want to go back and play with finishing details …
