Another 'Quilt'

What I was not doing while I started another patchwork 'quilt' grid composition painting:

• wrapping birthday gifts for Caroline and Emmy,
• figuring out what I'll pack to wear in Virginia,
• folding the dark load of clean laundry,
• responding to business email correspondence,
• making a deposit at the bank,
• emptying overflowing wastebaskets …

grid composition #2
6x6" gessobord

Hahaha....Dotty you are my kind of painter! Gorgeous, rich intense colour. As usually can't wait to see what's next. Have a safe trip.

Managed to pack our bags and get ourselves safely to Virginia! Thanks for your comments. Haven't worked with such rich intense colors in awhile.

Enjoyed your description of what you were not doing! Priority ART and PAINTING! Love your intense colors, and the grid quilt format. May borrow that at one time. Also can't wait to see the following layer!

I hadn't prioritized art and painting on my to-do list, but as the day unfolded I found myself in my study answering the siren's call! I just so love days where my thinking head gets pushed aside and my right mind responds to the universe. The colors and format just flowed!

Dotty! This is a beautiful experiment. I don't think you need anything to do with this. It's perfect in itself!
Think of Mark Rothko and his color fields... for instance.

Thanks, Joje!

Just got off the road from VA. Had a grand time. TIRED!

Your comment navigated the airway with nary a hitch : )

Simone, thank you! This piece was so satisfying to put on canvas (gessobord)—just mucking about and getting lost in spontaneous play with color. Thanks for mentioning Mark Rothko; fun to look at his color field paintings again.
