Another Day of Bigger

As I head to my studio, I notice what impels me today—a day when my focus is scattered and my studio time will be short; what calls to me is another day of bigger, another day of impulsive rather than measured.

So I respond.

As you know how I love majesty and orange. The grays neutrals bring out the strong colors. But, since this is a WIP who knows what remain and what will be covered!

Thanks for your comments, Carol. Even though this is a WIP and will indeed change, I appreciate the feedback because that is how I go to 'art school.'

It is great to see that even on a busy day when studio time is short, there is the possibility to put a new layer on. This time on a big one! Love the unfolding...

Bigger actually offered access to quicker for me; I could just get in there, move my hand/arm fast, and enjoy the fun of putting a new layer on with abandon! The unfolding is such fun, isn't it?

Did someone say sherbert? Yum :) Every square inch of this is a delight Dotty. It could be bookmarks or postcards... so many luscious details to see. I don't want you to cover any of it. But I can't wait to see what you are thinking ;)

It COULD be bookmarks or postcards, and might already have been … except that it's on canvas! Happily, there are parts that don't sing to me, so I won't mind covering up parts of it. As to what I'm thinking? Not much, at this point. We'll see what bubbles up in my studio tomorrow.

Really love the pink, but you already knew that, right? :D

Laughing!!!

If you asked, I wouldn't characterize myself as someone who loves bright vivid magenta, but in fact I do : )

Thanks for stopping by!

Look at those layers and textures! I am glad this is on canvas and you won't be reducing it to smaller pieces. Whatever you do with your next layer is going to make this richer and richer again! I like sherbert too, but can't wait to see what is next!

Janet, thanks for your feedback on layers and textures, and your recognizing that if I were working on paper I might be chopping—I appreciate your encouragement with this current exploration.
