Little Roots, Taking Hold

Picked up the last quadrant from a start painted on vacation in New Brunswick.

With no attention to final outcome, played around with some marks, just making additions as they occurred to me.

And then, of course, attachment—little roots, taking hold!

work in progress;
working title: Making Messy #4

Whoa! It looks as if everything is floating. That lovely brightness underneath the veil. Light coming from the right. Wonderful depth!! Wondering if the rings will collide and break apart, or gently bounce off one another. I am guessing bounce.

Just had a funny memory of the early days of owning a car, getting new tires, and wondering where the old ones went. A pertinent then and still pertinent question … from where I sit now, I'd like to think they end up in artist's abstract paintings where they bounce off each other gently.

Thanks for your observations and for leading me on a little flight of fancy.

Love this, Dotty! It is gritty and graphic - those hints of BLUE! Perfection! Walk away from the painting! ha ha!

Love the gritty graphic descriptors and, like you, I love the hints of blue.

I already walked away, and now have some regret. BUT, it's all part of the messy/exhilarating/exasperating/therapeutically nourishing process.

Bravo Jen!!! Just what I was about to say. The monochromatic and simple shapes seem to say .. enough I want to breathe!

Carol, grateful for your faithful visits to and comments at my blog. Funny how my starting by "making messy," with not a care about any outcome, led so quickly to a few touches that created this monochromatic composition.
