Setting Up Just Now

Painting offers up entrée to snippets of freedom. Eckhart Tolle states, The only place where you can or need to be free is this moment. Not the rest of your life. Just now. I experience so many of those moments, so much of now, in my studio.

Today, a piece of 9x12" drawing paper, paints, a brush or two, collage papers, some pens, and an acrylic skin were the portal.

Eventually, I took that 9x12 to my paper trimmer. Now I have a start for a birthday card and eight other somethings.

Before letting the blade fall:

I love the tiny text floating throughout this. You are a fearless, versatile creator! And ruthless with the paper trimmer. You are my idol!

I love scattering text throughout a piece—glad it appeals to you. Thanks for your affirmations of fearlessness and versatility! Laughing in delight at your paper trimmer comment. I do love my paper trimmer!

Yes that script is delightful. I love the stone like shapes, yes starts have a freedom of their own.

I am so glad that you experience so many 'now' moments (only Now ;-))
I know exactly what you are talking about but for me it is sometimes very difficult to not get caught by my 'so called problems' (as Eckhart Tolle always calls them - I love it how he can make it all so clear).
Enjoy your 'now', and I will do that too, inspired by you!

Fun to have you notice elements in my start that were particularly enjoyable in the creating. Thanks!

I need some now, right now! We went to Virginia and back for a four day visit, returning yesterday, and I am feeling a bit drifty and ungrounded as I start my day today.

Again, this one reminds me of frost on a window. I must have winter on the brain tonight or something. It has turned chilly, so maybe that's why.

Laughing at your frosty outlook! Winter sure would be a little more fun for me if I found that Jack Frost had painted a window of mine to look like this!
