This one is especially wonderful. There is texture, color, and little white spaces of rest for my eyes. And the title...well, it is just brilliant!

Jen, love how you picked up on all the parts that were so enjoyable for me in the making. The card I posted yesterday felt like a 'practice' card that opened the door to joyous frolicking today. Fascinates me to think of how this piece developed. With no intention in the making, I ended up with what feels like a brook with grassy banks, some rocks. Those circles of color have no real-world 'logic' with the other bits I see but they are such pure pops of effervescence coming from deep inside me, and it all 'works.' I love this one : )

I spy texture, I spy fun! I spy ladies with umbrellas, to protect them from the sun!
Love everything. Especially the splotchy, messy whitethat tells me you were feeling carefree and in the moment :)

I already saw this one on Instagram I think! The word 'frolicking' is wonderful. Do you know it stems from Dutch? I think? The word 'vrolijk', means happy, delightful. Or maybe from German (there it is fröhlich).
Anyway, I think this is the core of all this art-stuff. That it makes us happy - and gets us in line with the universe ;-)

Love the ladies-with-umbrellas image, Sheila! And you read me loud and clear with the white. Actually, this whole piece felt pretty carefree and in the moment, even when more deliberate : )

Simone, I didn't know frolic comes from Dutch (or German)—it's such a perfect word for the lighthearted delight I felt as I painted. Yes, yes, yes, to your belief that this is the core of 'all this art-stuff. That it makes us happy and gets us in line with the universe.'

It IS a myth, isn't it?! Glad that you like my titles. I was just thinking about them last night and how I have come into my own with them of late.
