Trickster Art

I have a collection of bookmarks I've painted, and I love finding just the right one to go with the cover of whatever book I read. I moseyed into my studio about a week ago with the idea of painting one to go with the neutrals on this book cover:

Tricksters were waiting for my arrival.

What an interesting cover. Wondering what book it behind it's cover? Is the strict in the colors of the format shape. Rather large for book mark, but with cutting Dotty, that's no problem!
I tend to see a dog 🐕 in the sky! Love 💘 the violet mark!

Thanks for your various comments, Carol. Your questions will be self-answered in upcoming posts, but suffice it to say my paper trimmer is always close at hand!

Oh! These "trickster" paintings look like the abstracts of one of my all time favorite artists, Valerie Erichsen Thomson! Incredible!

I am humbled and honored to have this piece be likened to Valerie's art; thank you!

Your studio is always filled with tricksters, yes?!

Not sure what a trickster is... But I love your blues ;-)

Glad you're loving my blues—I had SUCH a lovely time painting them.

In mythology, and in the study of folklore and religion, a Trickster is a character in a story (god, goddess, spirit, man, woman, or anthropomorphisation), which exhibits a great degree of intellect or secret knowledge, and uses it to play tricks or otherwise disobey normal rules and conventional behaviour. : )

Is it... it is!!!!! The birth of a bookmark. The birth of many bookmarks! Love the close up looks at your mark making. I see faces too. Yay! So excited to see the evolution of my new treasure.

Yup, the birth of many bookmarks—it'll be a days-long labor to deliver these decuplets! Thanks for being a distance doula of sorts : )
