Documentation

When I first considered painting over Screw Auger Falls Birches, I hesitated.

But, very early on in my painting life in 2014, I made a pledge to use painting as a practice in letting go.

As if I had a choice.

Truth to tell, letting go of Screw Auger Falls Birches wasn't tremendously difficult—I'd painted it well over a year ago, and I didn't feel like shopping for new canvas board so what the heck, why not?

Harder was letting go of Passing By a few days ago, even though I wasn't wildly in love with it. I could still feel the attachment that grew from investing myself in creating it.

Nonetheless, buh-bye to Passing By, and hello again to Just Kidding.

I'm grateful that I document process, providing myself evidence of the fun stuff that can come from daring and risk-taking and letting go. I usually have trouble veiling something already painted on a canvas, but isn't this yummy?

Thanks, Carol, and I'm honored to know that I inspire you to be more brave. I love the collaboration of courage that comes from being in touch with each other as we venture.

I like this monochromatic piece also.

[It has already moved on!]

Oh boy....gorgeous neutrals! When you start putting some colour on this it will have the wow factor. Appreciate all the pics you share - and even more showing work in different stages. Have fun Dotty.

These neutrals really appealed to me, too. Thanks for your feedback re my posting full shots, details, and work in different stages as well.

Neutrals are not something I gravitate towards. But I LOVE these. Yummy YES! Judy Jacobs had a superb month of them (30 in 30). Love the details. The movement in the last one is fabulous!

Sheila, I am much that same as you in my not thinking to paint using neutrals, but I totally love them and often am drawn to others' use of them. Judy's were stunning, weren't they? Thanks for you feedback re my detail photos and the movement in the last one.
