Did Someone Say Quilts?

I've had quilts in mind recently—paint quilts, the quilt a friend of mine has made for her first grandchild, and the quilt made by my Nana May.

Shutterfly has a practice of sending me an email every now and then to say, Your memories from this week eight years ago …  The most recent such email led me eventually to the quilt I made my younger granddaughter at the time of her birth seven years ago.

I now find myself wondering what the journey of that quilt will be over the course of its lifetime.

So sweet Dotty, I just love the fabrics. And your handwritten message... such a treasure! It has already lived a long life hasn't it. ;)

Thanks, Sheila. The design of this quilt with its contrasting inside 'frame' came as a result of not having enough of the piggy fabric to make a quilt of the size I wanted (the piggy fabric was given to me). It has indeed already lived a happy almost 7-year life : )

What a lovely gift! WOW those stitching. I also have a 7 yr old grandson Uri, my youngest. She should wrap it up safely for her first child!

Thanks for your quilt accolades. Eventually I'm sure Emmy will wrap the quilt up safely for her first child, but currently it still gets use : )

Fun that we have same-age grandkids!
