Laurie, thank you, thank you, and thank you! "Handholds" is part of an exploration of using rock faces as my starting point for several paintings.

I'm enjoying my new banner, too. That painting had such a fun evolution and it tickles my visual fancy every time I see it anew.

Love the new banner, love being surprised. Always an "Ooouuu!" moment.Love this piece as well. My first impression was an aerial view of a river through a canyon. Love the palette Beautiful!

Hi Sheila, good to hear from you! Are you missing your paints???

Thanks for your comments. The new banner is refreshing to me, too, a little surprise each time I open up to do something at my site.

The palette in "Handholds" and my past two pieces really appeals to me, too. One more piece to come. Loved your aerial view take on this one.

Hi Dotty!

Sooooo much fun to see you back painting!
I loved the new header, and to me it seems that you have been jumping a big leap! Beautiful! (bye the way, what a nice format: very small, isn't it?)

Simone, thank you for your comments. So much fun to have you home from holiday and sending creative sparks into my painting life again and also providing a long view.

Yes, a very small format. I had a number of anniversaries and birthdays coming up for which I wanted to paint cards so I created two or three series that were totally engaging in process—and I love the outcome.

I mounted each one on white paper and then on darker collage paper before mounting those three layers onto card stock.

I confess, I have had trouble letting some of them go! The one above will be making its journey through the post next week.
