How Embarrassing!

The spoonbill wading in the shallow waters of the stamp in the corner of this postcard, looking to find dinner, swept its partly opened spatulate bill from side to side till the moment a whole bunch of small aquatic creatures touched the inside of its bill—which it promptly snapped shut.

To its great astonishment, what it thought was insects turned out to be confetti. Not wanting to be found the fool, it flung the colored bits into the air and wished me the happiest of new years!

How fun.......eating my breakfast and feeling sorry for, and then happy for, that little bird!
Oh how you paint a picture, Dotty!
(That was an unintentional pun!)

That little bird might find its way into your art, speaking of painting pictures …

I am not sure if I understand everything you write;-), Byt anyway: it is wondeful how the most 'normal' things can change into something miraculous and full of wonder.

Simone, thanks for letting me know when my writing isn't clear to you, with English as not your first language, and thanks for celebrating how the most 'normal' things can change into something miraculous and full of wonder.

Simone, as one of Dotty's sisters let me assure you I don't always understand everything she writes either. More than once I've had to pick up a dictionary!
