Arbitrary Day of Transition and Hope*

Fresh paper and sponge in stay-wet palette.

Tidy studio.

New supplies.

New 30-in-30 Challenge for January.

New workshop downloaded.

New year.

Today, I select a color and paint two swatches for later use in collage.

Easy-peasy, I think.

Not so much, I discover.

I apply paint to drawing paper I've never used before, the absorption and surface of which provide a new experience for me. Brushwork doesn't cover the way I anticipate. But, I rustle up two swatches in versions of my chosen color.

More to follow.

*thanks for the title idea, Bo!

I love the skies! And of course, Dotty, the way you describe things........unmatched! Looking forward to seeing lots of your art in 2016!

Thanks, Laurie! I confess I'm a little breathless as I jump into this 30-in-30 Challenge. Art aside, I'm having to relearn/remember how to post and how to create thumbnails. And I'm having to actively engage in the ongoing practice of being gentle with myself : )

As am I! Thanks for stopping by. I enjoy "bumping into you" through art.
