Olive Garden
8x6", acrylic, charcoal pencil, ink, and pastels on poster paper

  1. Love the energy in this Dotty! This looks so awesome full screen! You have been making me want to play with pastels. And I have! Keep up the great work :)

  2. Thanks, Sheila. This painting had some ugly moments en route but pretty much just flowed organically and enjoyably into existence. I've had it as my desktop wallpaper for days and, even though I have new paintings that I love that I could swap out as new wallpaper, I can't seem to let go of this one yet. Have fun with your pastels!

  3. Hi Dotty,

So, you got the crayons! I wonder how they work for you!

    1. I've been having fun experimenting. Still more to learn with the crayons. They are more subtle than oil pastels, at least in my use of them so far. I will keep playing with them. And I don't know how one brand differs from another. Plenty to keep me in my studio!
